Police officers from Langata police station have today arrested Nuzrat Sharif; a woman who has been notoriously conning gullible citizens through her company Evitaerc limited which allegedly offered clients “simple homes”.
It later turned out that the simple homes program was a scam and members had lost their money.
This instigated complains from the members who took the matter to police after which she went missing.
Ms Nuzrat Sharif had registered her company in 2019 in Parklands Nairobi but closed it after learning that detectives were trolling her.
According to the DCI statement sent to newsrooms today, Ms Nuzrat Sharif was apprehended today in Nyali town, within Mombasa county.
Other companies associated the suspect include: Proop Tellub Ltd (Bullet Proop), EOAH, Rkab Uba Nisay (Yasin Abubakr), Kehdok Saniwagra Igniwga (Agwingi Argawings Kodhek).
Members who lost money through the scam have been asked by the DCI to report to Langata DCI offices for the action to be taken.
The Simple Homes Scam first came into the limelight in 2017 when reports emerged that there is a company making huge money out of selling non-existence homes to gullible Kenyans.
The homes were being sold on various social media platforms.
However, it later emerged that the photos of the homes posted on the platforms were plucked from the internet while those who were commenting positively had been part of the scheme.
Buyers had been requested to pay 5% of the total cost upfront before they could be allowed to view the homes . However, nobody saw the houses.
